Over seven days on the mountain, you’ll trek through diverse landscapes ranging from lush rainforest and alpine desert to the arctic summit zone. The route’s gradual ascent and dedicated acclimatization days provide an excellent success rate while offering breathtaking views of the mountain’s varied ecosystems.

After breakfast, depart Arusha for the Machame Gate, approximately a two-hour drive. Upon arrival, complete the park registration before beginning your ascent through the lush rainforest.
Today's trail winds beneath towering trees, giant ferns, and tropical vegetation, providing excellent opportunities to spot birds and monkeys along the way. The trail can be muddy and slippery, making trekking poles and gaiters highly recommended. By late afternoon, arrive at Machame Camp where you'll enjoy dinner and your first night on the mountain.

Leaving the rainforest behind, today's trek gradually enters the beautiful moorland zone. The trail climbs along rocky ridges covered with giant heather and volcanic rock, offering magnificent views of Mount Meru and the Shira Plateau. After several hours of steady climbing, you'll arrive at Shira Camp where you can relax and enjoy spectacular sunset views.

Today's hike is one of the most important for acclimatization. You steadily ascend to the impressive Lava Tower, also known as the Shark's Tooth, reaching an altitude of approximately 4,690 metres.
After lunch, descend to Barranco Camp, allowing your body to adapt to the higher elevation while sleeping at a lower altitude. This "climb high, sleep low" strategy significantly improves your chances of a successful summit.

Begin the day by climbing the famous Barranco Wall, one of the most exciting sections of the Machame Route. Although it appears intimidating, it is a straightforward scramble rewarded with spectacular panoramic views. After reaching the top, continue through valleys and ridges before arriving at Karanga Camp for a relaxed afternoon of rest and acclimatization.

Today's relatively short hike leads to Barafu Camp, your base camp for the summit attempt. The landscape becomes increasingly barren as you climb through the alpine desert. After arriving, enjoy an early dinner and rest before your midnight summit departure. Your guide will conduct a final briefing to prepare you physically and mentally for the climb to Uhuru Peak.

Shortly after midnight, begin the most challenging and rewarding part of your journey. Trek under the stars toward Stella Point before making the final ascent to
