The Lemosho Route is widely regarded as the most scenic route on Mount Kilimanjaro and offers one of the highest summit success rates due to its gradual ascent and excellent acclimatization profile. Beginning on the remote western side of the mountain, the route travers’s lush rainforest, the expansive Shira Plateau, alpine moorland, and dramatic high-altitude desert before reaching Uhuru Peak (5,895 m). The trail joins the Machame Route at Shira Camp and descends via the Mweka Route, providing a diverse and unforgettable trekking experience.
