2 Nights in Arusha | 6-Day Mountain Trek
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by Usari Safari and Tours representative and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. After checking in, you will meet your head mountain guide for a detailed pre-climb briefing, equipment inspection, and an opportunity to ask any questions before your adventure begins. Arusha Planet Lodge (BB)
After breakfast, depart for Marangu Gate, approximately four hours from Arusha. After completing the park registration, begin your trek through the lush tropical rainforest, home to towering trees, colorful birds, and playful colobus monkeys. Following a steady ascent, arrive at Mandara Hut, where you will enjoy dinner and your first overnight stay on the mountain.

Today's hike leaves the rainforest behind as the trail opens into the moorland zone. On clear days, enjoy spectacular views of Kibo and Mawenzi Peaks while crossing open heathland covered with giant lobelias and unique alpine vegetation. Arrive at Horombo Hut in the afternoon, where you can relax and admire the stunning mountain scenery.

Today is dedicated to acclimatization, giving your body time to adjust to the increasing altitude. You may choose to relax at the camp or take an optional acclimatization hike towards Mawenzi Hut (4,600 m) before returning to Horombo Hut. This additional acclimatization day greatly improves your chances of a successful summit while allowing you to enjoy the spectacular alpine scenery.
Continue your ascent across the vast alpine desert known as the Saddle, which stretches between Mawenzi and Kibo Peaks. The gradual climb offers breathtaking views of Kilimanjaro's rugged volcanic landscape. Upon arrival at Kibo Hut, enjoy an early dinner and rest before your midnight summit attempt. Your guide will provide a final briefing and prepare you for the climb to Uhuru Peak.

Habitat: Alpine Desert
Just before midnight, begin your summit attempt, ascending steadily over volcanic scree towards Gilman's Point (5,686 m) on the crater rim. After a brief rest and sunrise views, continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), the highest point in Africa. Celebrate your remarkable achievement before descending back to Kibo Hut for refreshments, then continue to Horombo Hut for a well-deserved night's rest.

After breakfast, continue your descent through the rainforest, passing Mandara Hut before reaching Marangu Gate. Here, successful climbers will receive their official Kilimanjaro summit certificates.
