After breakfast, depart for Machame Gate, a two-hour drive from Arusha. Once park registration is complete, begin your trek through the lush rainforest along winding trails surrounded by giant trees and tropical vegetation. The trail can be muddy, so trekking poles and gaiters are highly recommended. Arrive at Machame Camp in the afternoon for dinner and your first overnight on the mountain.

Today's hike leaves the rainforest behind as you ascend into the moorland zone. The trail climbs steadily across rocky ridges covered with giant heather, opening up spectacular views of Mount Meru and the Shira Plateau. Upon arrival at Shira Camp, enjoy time to rest while taking in the breathtaking scenery.

Today's trek is essential for acclimatization. You gradually ascend to Lava Tower (4,690 m), also known as the Shark's Tooth, before descending to Barranco Camp. Although you finish the day at a lower elevation than the highest point reached, this "climb high, sleep low" approach greatly improves acclimatization and prepares your body for summit day.

After breakfast, conquer the famous Barranco Wall before continuing through Karanga Valley and joining the Mweka Trail junction. As you complete the Southern Circuit, enjoy magnificent views of both Kibo and Mawenzi Peaks before arriving at Barafu Camp. After an early dinner, your guide will conduct a summit briefing before you rest in preparation for the midnight ascent.

Around midnight, begin your summit attempt under a sky full of stars. Ascend through scree slopes to Stella Point (5,790 m), where, weather permitting, you'll witness a spectacular sunrise over the mountain. Continue to
Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), the highest point in Africa, where you'll celebrate your remarkable achievement before beginning the descent. After a short rest at Barafu Camp, continue to Mweka Camp for your final night on the mountain.
