11-Day Mount Kilimanjaro Lemosho Route Climb
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be welcomed by Usari Safaris and Tours representative and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. After check-in, meet your head mountain guide for a comprehensive pre-climb briefing, equipment inspection, and an opportunity to ask any questions before your adventure begins. Villa Maua Arusha (BB)
After breakfast, depart for Londorossi Gate where registration formalities are completed before beginning your trek. Hike through the lush montane rainforest, keeping an eye out for black-and-white colobus monkeys and other forest wildlife. Arrive at Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp in the afternoon, where your tents will already be prepared for your first overnight on the mountain.

Leave the rainforest behind as you ascend through rolling hills covered with heather, volcanic rock, and giant lobelias before reaching the expansive Shira Plateau. Along the way, enjoy spectacular views of Kibo Peak rising above the plateau. Dinner and overnight at Shira 1 Camp.

Today's gentle trek crosses the scenic Shira Plateau beneath Kilimanjaro's Northern Ice Fields. The gradual ascent provides an excellent acclimatization opportunity while allowing you to appreciate one of the highest plateaus in the world. Dinner and overnight at Shira 2 Camp.

Continue ascending into the alpine desert towards the impressive Lava Tower (4,600 m), an iconic volcanic rock formation. The slower pace allows your body to adjust to the increasing altitude while providing spectacular views of Kilimanjaro's rugged landscape. Spend the night at Lava Tower, maximizing your acclimatization before continuing the ascent.

After breakfast, descend gradually to Barranco Camp. This "climb high, sleep low" strategy plays an important role in acclimatization and significantly improves your chances of a successful summit. The camp sits beneath the towering Great Barranco Wall, providing one of the most scenic campsites on the mountain.

Begin the day by climbing the famous Great Barranco Wall. Despite its intimidating appearance, it is a rewarding scramble with magnificent views of the Heim Glacier and surrounding valleys.
Continue through the beautiful Karanga Valley before arriving at Karanga Camp for dinner and overnight.

Continue your gradual ascent to Barafu Camp, your base camp for the summit attempt. Situated on a rocky ridge, Barafu offers incredible views of both Mawenzi and Kibo Peaks. After an early dinner, your guide will conduct a detailed summit briefing before you rest ahead of the midnight departure.

Just after midnight, begin your summit attempt beneath a star-filled sky. Ascend steadily over volcanic scree to Stella Point (5,685 m), where you'll witness a breathtaking sunrise before continuing to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your achievement and capturing unforgettable photographs, descend to Barafu Camp for lunch before continuing to Mweka Camp for your final overnight on the mountain.
