2 Nights in Arusha | 8-Day Mountain Trek
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be welcomed by Usari Safari and Tours representative and transferred to your hotel in Arusha, approximately a 2 hour drive away. After check-in, your head mountain guide will conduct a comprehensive pre-climb briefing, equipment inspection, and answer any questions before your adventure begins. Enjoy an overnight stay at
Arusha Planet Lodge (BB)
After breakfast, depart Arusha for Londorossi Gate, followed by park registration and final trek preparations. From the trailhead, begin your hike through the lush montane rainforest, keeping an eye out for black and white colobus monkeys and other forest wildlife. Arrive at Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp in the afternoon. Enjoy dinner and your first overnight on the mountain.

Leave the rainforest behind as you ascend into the moorland zone, crossing rolling hills, volcanic rock formations, and streams before reaching the expansive Shira Plateau. Along the way, enjoy magnificent views of Kibo Peak across one of the highest plateaus in the world. Dinner and overnight at Shira 1 Camp.

Today's trek is a gentle walk across the scenic Shira Plateau toward Shira 2 Camp beneath Kilimanjaro's Northern Ice Fields. This relaxed hiking day provides an excellent opportunity for acclimatization while enjoying spectacular mountain scenery. Dinner and overnight at Shira 2 Camp.

Habitat: Moorland
Today's hike is one of the most important acclimatization days of the expedition. Ascend gradually to Lava Tower (4,600 m), where lunch is served beneath the impressive volcanic formation. Weather permitting, you may explore the tower before descending to Barranco Camp.
The "climb high, sleep low" approach helps your body adjust to the altitude and significantly improves your chances of a successful summit.

Habitat: Semi-Desert
After breakfast, tackle the famous Great Barranco Wall, one of the most exciting sections of the Lemosho Route. Although it appears steep, it is a manageable scramble rewarded with breathtaking views of the Heim Glacier and surrounding valleys. Continue through the scenic Karanga Valley before arriving at Karanga Camp for dinner and overnight.

Habitat: Alpine Desert
Continue your ascent through the alpine desert to Barafu Camp, your base camp for the summit attempt. The word Barafu means "ice" in Swahili, reflecting the camp's exposed, rocky environment. After an early dinner, your guide will conduct a final summit briefing before you rest ahead of the midnight ascent.

Habitat: Alpine Desert
Around midnight, begin your summit attempt under a sky full of stars. Ascend steadily over volcanic scree to Stella Point (5,685 m), where you'll witness an unforgettable sunrise before continuing to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m), the highest point in Africa.
After celebrating your achievement and taking photographs, descend to Barafu Camp for lunch before continuing to Mweka Camp for your final overnight on the mountain.
